Our Story

Built by a musician, for the live music community

DoorSplit was born from two decades of playing shows and wishing things were better for everyone involved.

Hi, I'm Nate

I'm a musician based in Portland, Oregon, and I've spent over two decades playing drums and guitar in bands up and down the West Coast—at venues, bars, universities, porches, living rooms—anywhere people want live music.

Over the years, I kept running into the same problem: supporting live music shouldn't be this hard. Ticketing is often clunky and outdated, with poor mobile experiences and excessive fees. In many cases, there's no online ticketing at all, leaving artists to manage the door with cash, spreadsheets, or a Venmo QR code—slow, messy, and error-prone.

And when the show ends, it doesn't get easier. Bands are left tracking down venue managers, trusting rough estimates, or splitting cash by hand.

DoorSplit was built to fix that.

It's a simple, transparent way for bands, promoters, and venues to manage shows, sell tickets, and share revenue—without the friction. The goal is to make live music more accessible, more fair, and more sustainable for everyone involved.

DoorSplit does for live shows what Patreon did for creators and Toast did for restaurants: it connects artists directly with their audience while freeing venues from outdated, proprietary systems.
